Based on Diogenes Laertius, Digby’s 1712 translation reflects renewed seventeenth-century interest in Epicurean atomism and rational ethics.

Lacking frontispiece. Half calf with marbled boards, gilt spine worn with losses and central flaw, extremities rubbed, loss to top right corner of title page, ownership marks to pastedown, strong foxing and discolourations internally, notably to i to pp. 91 (upper third) and pp. 176–208. Repair to final page.
